Every business wants satisfied customers.

Customers.. that is, you and me.. tell our friends and family about experiences we’ve had at restaurants, shops, and with people we have had to deal with like doctors, dentists, trades people, etc.

Get Satisfaction is all about people-powered customer service and provides customer communities for products and organisations.

Get Satisfaction enables you to gather ideas and feedback from customers and build loyalty and trust through the power of community.

You may have noticed Get Satisfaction’s Feedback widget on many blogs and sites,

Feedback widget

This guide will show you how to setup Get Satisfaction and install the widget on your WordPress blog.

Setup and Claiming your Community

Head over to Get Satisfaction and click on <Learn More & Get Started>,

Anyone can create a customer community on Get Satisfaction.

Enter the name of your organisation then click <Check for it>, to see if it’s available,

Now add yourself as an employee of your organisation,

Now enter the details about your organisation.. then click on <Add this organisation> when you’re done.

It can take between 2-3 days for this to get approved (mine took one day),

Installing the Widget

Now that your account is setup and your claim on your community has been approved.. we need to,

  1. get the code
  2. install this widget on your blog.

(I found the path to getting the code quite hidden.. I couldn’t find a ‘quick’ way.. but this is the next best way.)

Login to Get Satisfaction then click on your name,

you

From your Dashboard, click on Products & Companies,

products and companies

Next click on your company,

your company

Click on the little arrow next to Community (to show further options).. then click on Admin,

admin

Now click on Your Widgets,

your widgets

Click on Get the code for this widget,

get code

Customise your code as you want it to appear on your site.. then when you are done click on <Update your code>.. then copy the code,

feedback code

Now that you’ve copied the code.. the final step is to put it into your blog.

This code will need to be pasted between the <body></body> tags.. and for me this is in the header.php file (it may be different for you depending on your theme).

Login to your WordPress blog and under the Appearance section, click on Editor,

editor

Now click on header.php

header.php

Just before the closing </body> tag paste your Get Satisfaction Feedback widget code in.. then click <Update File>,

Your Get Satisfaction Feedback widget is now live on your website!

Customer Feedback

Customers and visitors to your website can give all sorts of Feedback by clicking on this Feedback widget.

They can,

  • share an idea
  • ask a question
  • report a problem
  • give praise

feedback

When someone gives feedback you will receive an email notification,

You can now act on this feedback by replying to the customer from within Get Satisfaction.. and selecting the outcome,

The power of this is that other customers can also provide assistance and support to customers, as well as yourself or your employees.

Get Satisfaction provides transparency to your product or service and customers are invited and encouraged to participate in providing feedback.
